Mills Media have recently completed a photographic commission for Cammell Lairds and Nexans of Norway on the conversion the large off shore cable laying vessel the Nexans Skaggerak.

The ship arrived at Birkenhead in January for a refit and a hull extension. This involved cutting the ship in half and the fitting of a 500 tonne mid-body section whilst in dry dock. Photographs were taken at key stages of the work culminating with views of the completed ship prior to her sailing this month. Mills photographers Bob Baxter and Lonn Landis covered the work along with the Mills Media video crew who covered various stages of the project.

In the picture of the mid-body section the Mills film crew can be seen on the gantry to the left of the picture giving an indication of the shear scale of the unit being moved.
