  Mills are rebuilding Dailys stand at this year's Safety & Health Expo. Last year, the company decided to invest in a UK manufactured, reusable aluminium construction system, which can be flat packed and stored between shows. With minor graphics updates, the structure has now been used for 4 events across Europe in the last 12 months alone.

 

Bob Baxter recently updated photography of the world famous Uncle Joe's product range.

With a history dating back almost as long as Mills Media, Uncle Joe's Mint Balls are held in high regard by many.

The images will be used in upcoming exhibition graphics, also to be designed by Mills.


  Both our photographers were in Liverpool in early February to shoot the latest topping out ceremony at the Paradise Street Project.

 

For the second year running Mills Media have staged a fashion show at The Times Creme Executive and PA Event in Manchester.

Models and clothes were provided by the fashion label Planet resulting in another successful collaboration for us - a stand that turned plenty of heads.


  Mills are pleased to have played our part in esigning a new brochure and display stand to promote 7 Best Invest's Inner City Sailing initiative - their charity that encourages young people from deprived areas to get involved in sailing.

  The 2008 Groundwork Merseyside Awards celebrate both business and community contributions to the local environment. Two shows were held in one day at Liverpool's Crowne Plaza, the first for schools and community groups which involved theatre, comedy and awards and a business event for the pride of Merseyside.

Mills Media designed a 20 metre wide set featuring the organisation's revamped name and colour branding. Lighting changes brought a selected palette of blues, jades and golds in keeping with Groundwork's in-house styling. This is the 4th year Mills Media has successfully staged this
prestigious event.


  The Airport Agency returned to Mills Media to update graphics for existing Twist and freestanding single banner systems for their recent event in Dublin.

  Having produced the previous two annual events for one of the UK’s leading distribution companies, Mills Media were again commissioned to produce their third event. Held at the Celtic Manor Hotel, the most premier venue in South Wales, Mills Media designed and built a stunning set for the night’ festivities. The show featured song and dance with entertainment from Bobby Davro and The Soprano Belles.

  The Mills Media broadcast crew have just completed a new production in the Bahamas for 7BestInvest. A new luxury, property development was filmed against the stunning backdrop of the Caribbean. Atlantis, Compass Point and the charm of Nassau’s Bay Street will all be featured in the DVD that has previously seen the crew also work in Italy’s stunning Lake Como region.

  A challenging brief - retaining the feeling of a long standing traditional company background - but with a contemporary edge to the final visuals. The project involved photography, CADs and graphic design, the specification and final production of a flexible and adaptable exhibition solution (as well as much product tasting.) The Twist system was chosen for its versatility, portability and ease of use.

  LLDC commissioned Mills Media to produce a film that celebrated the final stages of the the organisations project work on Edge Lane. Shown at a meeting of partners and special guests, the programme begins with footage of Liverpool’s most important throughfare, shot by the Mills crew in 2005. It features the changing face of the road
and closes with brand new shots from winter 2007, showing the sleek, new lighting of the Rocket flyover, upgraded pathways and pavements and also the festive Christmas lights of Edge Lane Drive.

 

The Mills exhibition team were back at Earl's Court recently constructing BASF's prestigious stand at Ecobuild.

Involving design, project management and build, the flagship stand required communication between BASF's British and German counterparts.

The stand, split into four themed 'pods' promoted the company's latest energy efficient home technologies. Click the images to the right for a closer look.


  Having supplied them with exhibition systems over a year ago, Solon returned to Mills for a brand re-fresh. This encompassed a logo update, stationery and a new look 48 page product catalogue.

 

Mills are pleased to have worked with Muller on a number of projects and the relationship goes from strength to strength.

A recent set of Twist exhibition graphics will be followed by a bespoke build for their stand at Pro-Retail in April. Watch this space for updates ...


 

February saw Mills Media exhibit at International Confex 2008 at Earls Court. Confex is an essential day out for anyone in the events industry.

This was the 3rd year Mills have exhibited here, with over 1000 visitors paying us a visit.


  Mills Media continued their association with UPM recently when we supplied them with a further set of eye catching pull-up banners for their New Year Party.

  For the third year running the Mills have helped Kette Containers with updated printed brochures. 12 high quality double sided A4 brochrues were shipped direct to the client which were then handed out to prospective clients at the prestigiuos Furniture Show 2008.

 

Matt Goodfellow was on hand this month to photograph the launch of the brand new England fotball kit.

All of the players from Capello's first squad were present and on their best behaviour for the new coach.


 

Mills Media were on hand to capture the spectacular opening ceremony for Liverpool 08.

The launch event on St George's Plateau was attended by up to 50,000 people. Ringo Starr performed from a container on the roof of St George's Hall, while guitarists played on top of Wellington's column and St John's Beacon.

  An annual event, the Telecare Conference has grown and grown over past five years since Mills Media first starting working with the organisation . Guests from around the UK take part in seminars, plenary sessions and the annual awards ceremony. Staged at the Holland House Hotel, Cardiff, the Mills Media crew produced yet another outstanding event for its client.

  Mills have recently been involved once again with RLGC reproducing a number of prints from their photographic
archives. All recent work has been completed digitally, to exacting standards so as to closely match the originals.

 

Mills Media's link with the U534 strengthened when we were asked to track the progress of the vessels cutting and relocating.

Mersey Travel have contracted Hole Masters to disect the famous submarine. She will then be moved to Woodside Ferry Terminal by the Mersey Mammoth Floating Crane.

The Mills video crew is also charting the progress of the move.

The result of a meeting in London was that Bob and Matt have been appointed amongst a select group of photographers to English Partnerships ground and aerial photography.


  Editing is now complete on Mills Media’s latest production – the Sustainable Catchment Management Programme or SCaMP for short. Produced for United Utilities, the programme examines how farming in the uplands of the Peak District and the Forest of Bowland has a serious affect on raw water quality reaching reservoirs. SCaMP will be shown across the north-west region to explain the forthcoming changes and how local water quality will be improved in future years.

  Since 1950, The Lord’s Taverners have been raising money to ‘give young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance’. This is the seventh year Mills Media have produced the evening’s event and 2007 was one of the most successful yet raising over £30,000 for the charity. Hosted by Jonny Gould and with contributions from BBC’s Peter Alliss and Judge Richard McCullagh, the event at Crowne Plaza Liverpool was deemed one of the best yet.

 

Mills are proud to be working with Cornwall City Council producing a number of outdoor banners promoting flights
from Newquay Airport.

A competitive pricing structure and fast turnarounds have been key to the success of recent
projects.


  Mills Media continue it's long association with the Liverpool Law Society Completing a graphic system celebrating the appointment of the new President.

 

A fast turnaround production for Toni&Guy and MUTU required filming in both Manchester and Colchester. Mills Media produced a short five minute DVD to be shown at the company’s Olympia show attended by 3,000 delegates

The programme examines how the organisation is
improving the ‘customer experience’ across the entire Group.


 

Matt Goodfellow spent a day at Wembley for Umbro photographing their new product launch for 2008.

Clients were invited to spend the day at the spectacular new ground which included the chance to play alongside Alan Shearer and Viv Anderson on the hallowed turf itself.


  Mills are please to be once again working with Sidhil at their next event, Wounds UK, in Harrogate next month. Mills install the company's graphics at various UK exhibitions.

 

Mills recently supplied Renold with a number of lightweight, portable banner systems, destined for both the USA &  Spain.

A further 4 systems are destined for Canada shortly.


  Dailys' new Unibox based modular stand, design and built by Mills Media, will be used for the third time this year, at Medica in Dusseldorf. This event features a different configuration based on the strong lines of the previous build, with new graphics bespoke to the event. Dailys plan to use the Twist system for their Dubai exhibition early next year and attend other smaller European events with this highly portabile and versatile system.

  Kris Morris at Mills designed and oversaw the installation of Salons Direct's stand at this year's prestigious Salons International exhibition in London. A larger stand than last year, at 9m x 6m, this year's design showcases their new furniture range.

 

Local hair stylists Saks enlisted the help of Mills Media for an upcoming national competition.

The images were shot in our studio by both Bob and Matt - the final results are being judged in late September.


 

Photographed by Bob Baxter and Andrew Mills, the QE2 arrived in Liverpool for possibly the last time in her long life.

She was moored on Pier Head's new landing stage which will no doubt see many more imoressive vessels in the years to come.


  With a ‘Cabaret’ theme, the inaugural awards for Wirral PCT certainly offered an entertaining afternoon’s event. Held at Hulme Hall in Port Sunlight, the show honoured members of staff who have gone that extra mile in the course of their daily work. Mills played in a multitude of formats including Flash, PPT, video, DVD to bring a touch of the old ‘razzle dazzle’ to the proceedings.

  Staged at the Liverpool Crowne Plaza Hotel, this is Mills Media’s fifth year of producing the organisation’s Community Fire Awards.   Hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Roger Phillips, the event included live camera relays and DVD play-ins all complimented by a stylish set and sumptuous lighting design.

 

Silver award winner at the 2007 ceremony for the company’s ‘Black Country Rubbish Challenge’ DVD, an educational programme aimed at 9 to 11 year olds.

  600 guests enjoyed an evening’s entertainment at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel to celebrate the Society’s 180th Annual Dinner. Production included filming of guests arriving at the venue, live camera relays of speeches and looped DVD presentations of previous events.

  Three hundred guests recently celebrated Wirral’s booming tourism business whilst attending the annual awards at Thornton Hall Hotel.  This is the fourth time Mills Media have produced this event which brings together the region’s very best tourism services and people.

  The grandeur of the Blackpool Winter Gardens provided a unique venue for Call North West’s i naugural awards event. Hosted by Channel 4’s Jason Marwood , the Moulin Rouge themed evening was a fantastic night of laughter, entertainment and celebration.

  Held at De Vere Dunston Hall in Norwich, this is our third year of full event management and production for APPRO. Over 160 delegates attended the three-day conference and guest speakers included Charles Clarke MP. Topics as diverse as the Suffolk Murders, The Beaching of the Cargo Ship MSC Napoli and the Gloucester Floods were discussed. It was also announced that Mills has been awarded the contract for a further four years.

 

Mills Media's relationship with Liverpool Law Society goes from strength to stength as we organised their Property Law Conference in September.

There forthcoming Family Law event will also be run by our conference team in early October 2007.


 

Mills Media were proud to organise the12th European Space Mechanisms and Tribology Symposium 2007.

Held at the Crowne Plaza in Liverpool, this bi-annual event attracts around 200 space scientists, mechanism designers and engineers, and space project programme managers from all around the world.


 

In our first conference collaboration, we have just finished the production of Visit Chester & Cheshire's AGM.

Held at the Mere Golf and Country Club, the event was hosted by it's Chairman Mike Cooksley.


  September 2007 saw Mills team up with the ILE for the second year running. The 3 day conference held at the Dublin Crowne Plaza resulted in another satisfied client.

 

Last week saw the Mills team install Cheshire City Council's outdoor stand at this year's Nantwich Food & Drink  Festival. This event was the third phase in their exhibition programme promoting community awareness and the Council's recycling initiatives.

Mills originally designed, specified and built their stand for the Cheshire Show, and the have now been asked to rebuild it at two successive events.


  Mills recently supplied a number of Twist systems to a delighted client. Commented Martin Cooper, Sales &

Cardiothoracic Centre, Broadgreen - The bi-annual Aortic Surgery Symposium staged in Liverpool, welcomed 200 top heart surgeons and specialists from around the world. Mills Media filmed five operations at CTC that were each transmitted live via satellite to the invited audience at the Maritime Museum.

This is the second successive live surgery Mills has worked on for the Cardio Centre.


  The Mills Media production unit recently travelled to Lake Como in Italy to film a new programme for 7BestInvest.  The three day shoot was based in Varenna but also included filming in Menaggio and Pianello.  The DVD will feature some of the company's latest exclusive developments and also an interview with internationally renowned architect Arturo Montanelli.

 

The SMIT International Group provides harbour, coastal and river towage on the River Mersey and August saw the launch of two brand new tug boats in Liverpool. The event was held at Huskisson Dock and was attended by ship owners and agents from across the UK.

Smit Donau and Smit Barbados represents £8 million worth of towage investment for the company and Mills Media were on hand to provide all audio equipment, set and stage as well as balloons and flowers.


  With photography, design and final printing completely in-house, Action Can's new 3x4 popup is now on its way to their event in Poland.

  This month saw the redesign and printing of NSL's new 16 page company brochure - in less than 10 days from first draft to completion on press.

 

Commissioned to design and build Dailys' stand earlier this year at the NEC, Kris Morris & Tom McCabe here will now project manage and oversee its construction in Dusseldorf this month.

The stand uses Unibox's modular aluminium system allowing it to be dismantled, reconfigured and reused at other events


 
The inaugural Liverpool Law Society Awards were staged at Liverpool's Crowne Plaza in June. 

The event was a huge success with the Mills Media team supplying project management from the early stages of conception.  Dancers, singers and musicians provided non-stop entertainment in a sublime setting.  The set and stage were designed in-house as where the lighting effects and screen shows.

 

The tuxedos and elegant dresses came out in full glory at the 2007 Liverpool Business Oscars.

The event was held at one of Liverpool's most unique venues, Sefton Palm House and the show, which celebrates the city's business successes was transformed into a period theatre for the 'Midsummer Nights Dream' theme.

Mills Media designed the set, stage and colourful lighting to fulfil a brief supplied by event managers Downtown Liverpool. The packed show featured nine awards, French Chanson music, keynote speeches and local comedian John Bishop.


 

A client since 1998, ADI Gardner Security Services invited Bob Baxter to shoot their Activities Day at Hawkstone Park Hotel and Golf Club.

Matt Goodfellow was out on location in August 2007 to record the naming ceremony of Smit's newest two tug boats - Barbados and Donau.

Mills Media also designed and supplied the graphics for the event.


 

Mills Media were in Birkenhead Town Centre on September 1st to see Mike McCartney, brother of Paul, open the new branch of HSBC.

  Mills have been working with Sidhil for a number of years on various projects. Most recently we were asked to supply printed panels for their NAEP Exhibition in Blackpool.

 

Mills Media have just completed the design and build of an outdoor stand for Chester Waste Parnership at the Cheshire Show.

Supporting their home recycling initiatives, it was specified with reclaimed and recycled products as an integral part of the build itself. Click here for pictures from the event.


 

The creative team at Mills recently caused a stir within the photographic community when it posted the image on to Flickr.

BSS recently held their annual Management Conference and Awards at Leicester's Marriott Hotel. The Group is one of the UK's leading specialist distributor of pipeline, heating, ventilation, and plumbing products. Mills have managed their last four consecutive events.

Mills Media provided set, stage and AV facilities for the daytime event with a rapid turnaround for the spectacular Gala Awards show in the evening.

 

Sonae UK Ltd is a manufacturer of high quality particleboard for use in the furniture and construction industries.

A recent 'Fun Day' at Knowsley Hall was photographed and filmed by Mills on location. A great day out for clients and suppliers, avtivities included clay pigeon shooting, bird of prey demonstrations and the inevitabe rodeo competition.


 

Mills Media have been working with The Ninja Corporation for over 17 years, helping promote their innovative and ward-winning toys for Boys and Girls.

Mills Media has been responsible for the aerial and ground photography at the Liverpool Paradise Project site for two years.

Matt Goodfellow was recently asked to capture a tour of the site with Rod Holmes and Louise Ellman MP.


 

Photographed by Mills Media's Matt Goodfellow, the cover sleeve and artwork for Arctic Monkeys highly anticipated second album 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' was shot over four days and evenings at Garston, Liverpool.

Commissioned by Juno Design, the Mills photographic team took on the challenge of visualising the latest creation by the 'enfant terribles' with gusto and excitement.


  Scotland's largest independent timber merchants, Rembrand Timber chose Mills Media to design and build their bespoke stand at Glasgow's recent Homebuilding & Renovating Show.

 

Mills Media have recently completed the successful staging and management of the World Canals Conference at the Liverpool Crowne Plaza on behalf of the IWA.

APPRO 2007 – this will be the third year we have undertaken their national conference, held this year at Dunston Hall, Norfolk.

Previous years have been held at Alton Towers and Aviemore Highland Resort.


 

Following its recent contract award, Mills staged the first of many conferences in 2007 for Liverpool Law Society.

The Children's Law event was held at the Liverpool Marriott and saw a distinguished panel of speakers discuss this highly topical subject.

  The Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland annual conference was staged by the Mills Media in Inverness.  The team provided full event management and AV facilities for the two day event which welcomed the country's leading Police Officers to discuss future developments and Force strategy.

  Photography at Northwich Victoria FC to cover a new range of football clothing and accessories for young people. The images are being used as part of the “Team Wear” brochure. The range includes items of clothing from pre-match polo shirts and track suits to full male and female kits.

  The Mersey Partnership – Photography of over 40 tourism sites around the NW, showing the improvements TMP have undertaken in conjunction with local councils to some of the areas. A selection of images were also produced to give a flavour of some of the NW’s most picturesque areas.

 

To celebrate the 'topping out' of West Tower, Beetham commissioned Mills Media to produce a celebratory live event to be held at Liverpool's Liver Building. With 200 dignitaries and specially invited guests, the evening was a fantastic success.

To add to the festivities, Mills also lit the entire north facing entrance of the Liver Buildings with an array of colours and company logo projections.


  Mills recently teamed up with Sun Valley yet again. This time the brief was the design and supply of a complete set of Twist Graphic Panels for their PLMA show in Amsterdam, Holland.

  Vox-pop filming with residents, officers and support staff across Merseyside for a unique presentation to the Home Office.

  Cheshire Mouldings – 45m sq stand at the Homebuild Show, NEC Birmingham. Services included photography, design, print, exhibition CAD design and build of the complete stand.

  Design and build of 12m sq stand for 5th Euro Electronic Monitoring Exhibition at Egmond Aan Zee, Netherlands.

  An aerial survey of over 35 sites around the North West for mapping and analysis purposes.

 

The Institution of Lighting Engineers – Mills strike a three year deal from 2007 to 2009 starting in Dublin for live events.

In June 2006 we produced the 3 day conference in Manchester.


 

Mills completed stands for Uren Food Group, Sun Valley, Skozil and Kiril Mischeff at the recent International Food & Drink Event at London Excel.
